I own a 52-inch Snapper with a 24 HP B&S engine. This is a California machine, with various wiring mods that imperil the regulator. My original regulator failed after a few hours service. I shorted out the diode that is in series with the magnetic clutch and placed a new snubber diode across the
clutch winding. After installing my new regulator (Amazon---great price) everything works fine.

Great price, brand new factory part in box. Fixed me right up, I can now mow without having to jumpstart the mower! Hooray!
