5its better with no threads  Feb 20, 2012
By aftermarketgeek
someone said that this part is cheap because there weren't any threads for the mounting bolts but the aftermarket company's do that because the parts actually last longer when you put bolts into hold them instead of tapping threads into them and making the aluminum weaker so please do not let that one review keep you from buying these parts i am not a manufacturer i am just trying to give you some insight so you don't waste your money buying the more expensive parts because you have to buy 3 or 4 bolts these aftermarket parts are sometimes better than the O.E.M parts if not the same quality.

The item arrived timely, seems like a well built product, and appears to be the item I needed to replace the current spindle on my mower which is almost worn out.

2Now I know why it was so cheap.  Jul 25, 2011

I have to admit that the spindle works, but I was really pissed that the mounting holes were no threaded. I didn't have the tools needed to create my own threads, so I needed to buy a few bolts from home depot to get this thing working.
