5As described works perfect and great quality  Mar 31, 2014
By Ron
I bought a snowblower off of clist that wasnt fully functional. This was the only thing that needed to be replaced and it works like a champ. From what i have found this is a pretty common problem. Installation took about 2 hours to disassemble and put back together, also i replaced the belt while i was in there. Great product i would recommend it to anyone.

5Murray snow thrower  Aug 31, 2010
By rob emmert
Wow- this item took forever to track down, doubled the amount I had invested in this machine but it eats snow like a champ. Good thing too cause last winter when I needed it most we got hit w/ a pair of 22 inch storms. This repair is not for the faint of heart tho' and requires some mechanical know-how.

3Before purchasing, be sure the keyway matches up with the keyway opening on the shaft.  Jun 26, 2014

This gear fit perfectly except for the keyway opening. It ended up being a 1/16" of an inch too big for the keyway on the shaft it matched up to. Ended up having to a machine shop make it fit by making a bigger opening in the shaft to accommodate the size on the gear. Other than that if would have gotten five stars.

3Worked as it was supposed to.  Apr 25, 2013

The gear on my snow blower broke only two years into using the snow blower (not using it very much). Apparently this is common. I bought this gear, opened the gearbox, and replaced it. Seems to work fine. Price was a little high.

5Factory oem gear perfect fit.  Jul 16, 2015
By Amazon Customer "R.A.R"
This was my first attempt at repairing the worm gear on an auger. I was told my so many people it was not worth it and just by a knew one. Well I have done engine swaps so I figured it was worth a shot. I dont like the newer blowers as they are a thinner metal. Auger housing was in really good shape I did not want to swap a different auger housing as suggested I wanted to repair mine. The hardest part of the repair was getting the old augers off the shaft as they had frozen on. A soak in an oil bath , heat , and a gear puller later they were off. The old worm gear came right off and this new one slid right on. Reassembled and everything works like new. This was a good thing because in New England we had record snowfall amounts this year. The gear came well package and in its oem box. So if you already have already taken appart your auger and the shaft is not bent I would recomend replacing the worm gear. The job cost was cheap it was just time consuming.
