4Craftsman Tractor Switch Replcament  Oct 14, 2013

Switch was a direct replacement. It came quickly in the mail. It took about 5 minutes to remove old and install new one. Keys came with it & it started immediately.

5Perfect fit replacement  Dec 22, 2013
By Harry Moto
Well, not completely perfect; it uses a standard nut to hold the ignition switch in. I used the old one, although the new one would have done the job just as well. I just wanted to keep the stock look.

Otherwise, it's absolutely perfect. I was thrilled to find this particular switch at such a reasonable price, and it works perfectly. It's a real thrill to be riding around mowing the grass instead of working on the silly mower!

The extra pins (compared to most riding mower ignition switches) just run the headlights, the switch has 4 positions instead of the normal 3. Off, ON with headlights ON, ON with headlights OFF, and START. The pinout is different than a generic switch too, so a five pin switch won't plug in.

I believe the functions are the same, I was about to start cutting wires and adapting to a generic switch when I found this 7 pin on Amazon. I didn't actually DO the conversion, as I found the correct replacement part, so I don't KNOW that it would work. I had purchased a separate switch for the headlights, but obviously never had to use it.Good luck if you decide to try to rewire for a 5 pin, it SHOULD work. 8^)

5Good parts for old lawn tractor  May 06, 2014
By Gregg A Davis
If you need replacement parts for an old lawn tractor, this is the place to go. I wondered if I could find parts for such an old tractor, but I searched Amazon for the patent number found on the old part and a number of items came up. I found the ignition switch with the correct number of connectors on it and ordered it. The estimated delivery date was 10-15 days out, but it was delivered in 2-3 days. I plugged it in and the tractor started right up!

5I am pleased to report that it arrived quickly  May 10, 2015

I waited to post this review to see how the part would perform after some use. I am pleased to report that it arrived quickly, was amongst the lowest price that I could find on the internet -particularly when considering the all-in cost including delivery- and it has been working great for the last two months of regular use.
