This is a great replacement carb. For several years I had been struggling with the original carb on my ancient DYNAMARK snowblower. The ethanol in today's gasoline wrecked havoc with on that poor old carb's inards. The new STENS carb ran right out of the box. One note to remember is there are no mixture adjustments on this carb. I am adding a fuel shutoff valve, fuel filter + alcohol resistant fuel line and using STABIL as recomended by STENS. A snowblower does a lot of sitting around so I think these additions are very necessay addition to use with a NEW carb.to help keep it working like new.

Superb replacement for a tired original Jan 02, 2012

This replacement carb worked perfectly to repair a 1960's vintage Sears 5HP 2-stage snowthrower with a Tecumseh engine. Thank you! I've rebuilt the original carb countless times, and now it's finally become unsalvageable. At just over the price of a rebuild kit, this replacement fired up instantly. With proper maintenance, including the vigilant use of fuel stabilizer, I expect long-term service. Thanks again.

The carburetor on my 5 hp Craftsman shredder was 15 years old and had to be rebuilt or replaced; I chose to replace it with this unit and was pleased I did. Went on easily, worked immediately without further adjustments and saved a lot of time and heartache.
Carburetor Review for Sears 5.5 HP Snowblower Mar 05, 2012

This is a direct replacement for my Sears Craftsman 5.5 HP Snow Blower. The price was super reasonable and far better then the price from Sears Parts Direct and although this carburetor is not a Tecumseh direct part it installed quickly and very easily and the snow blower started up on the first pull! For it's price it made more sense to replace the whole carburetor than to do a rebuild kit on the old one. Delivery was very quick and on time. The only difference with this part and the Tecumseh is the float bowl has no spring valve to drain it, no big deal! Well worth the savings of $40.00 over Sears Parts Direct!!!
Sten Carburetor Solved My Problems! Mar 01, 2012

Replaced another after market carb on my Snapper HS50 Tecumseh engine with this unit and it runs like a new machine! I higly recommend this Sten product.
