3Questionable  May 18, 2013
By hawaiian snowman
Had no problem installing the belt and it fit perfectly, however after mowing half and acre the belt began to slip. I checked and didnt see any problems with the belt and why it was slipping. I began to mow again, then suddenly the belt slipped from the pulley and then ripped. Just threw it away and order a kevlar replacement belt which is working just fine with no problems.

3MTD Deck Belt Review  Apr 08, 2011
By D. Bussey
Belt is made in China. It looks like original replacement. Upon installing it, the blades turned without being engaged, because this belt was smaller length than the original. This required that the belt tention be loosened. The adjustment is a real pain, as you have a hard time fitting your hands into the point of adjustment. It would be easier to adjust without the deck installed, but who wants to remove that after they just installed it with a new belt. The price was much lower than OEM. You weight your time vs cost. Thanks China for the not so exact replacement.

1Blades wont disengage!  Feb 05, 2014
By S. CLOWN "SWAMPCHILD"
I also had a problem with the blades not disengaging using this belt. No amount of adjusting would clear the problem. Also it wore out the blade brake pads.As you can imagine this could be very dangerous. I have a rocky mountain yard where there are areas I must disengage or the mower will eat rocks.I have returned to the original MTD belt.

1A poor quality replacement for MTD  Oct 22, 2010
By frankl
I should have remembered that you get what you pay for. The original MTD belt lasted 10 years before breaking. This poor quality replacement from Taiwan lasted for 3 cuttings. After cutting the grass 3 times, this belt is starting to fray. Don't waste your money on this thing since it is just as much work to put on a piece of junk as it is a quality belt. I have now ordered a MTD belt for $53.00 and hope I get 10 more years out of it.

5It's a whole new mower!  Sep 07, 2013
By celt-rock
This was a great replacement on my MTD riding mower, I've been using it all year and, well, I never realized how old and tired my old belt was until I put this one on. Glad I found it on here!
