Inferior product. Jun 09, 2013
By hunt more often
I ordered this belt because it was listed with a Kevlar composition. It seemed to work fine for a while, but after putting the mower in some tall grass it burned and then broke after a short time. My factory belt lasted 10 years. This seems to be an inferior product. I would not recommend this product.

Wrong Size Jun 03, 2012
By K. G. Holt
This replacement model did not fit as it should have on my Craftsman mower. Although it is shown as a replacement, it is too small and causes the blades to turn whenever the mower is running; regardless if the blades are engaged or not. This is a definite safety hazard. I'll need to replace this replacement.
I've been using this belt for over a month now and would like to amend my original review. The belt has seemed to loosen (but not in a bad way) and now the blades no longer engage when the engine, alone, is running. The safety issue I raised originally has dissipated. I was unhappy, though, that the seller contacted me about my 2-star rating and bad review of the product. If you sell a product that doesn't do what it's supposed to do, the potential buyers, as well as the existing seller, should know. But, I can say that the product is now performing like it's supposed to.
This item almost lasted a year. I replaced it about a month ago with a better quality belt. This belt became twisted and began to fray before it finally failed. I don't think it was user error because threading the belt through the proper path is not difficult. I say this because I put on my original on 10 years ago and it lasted. So choose wisely.

Good buy! Easy to install Jul 13, 2012
By John F Polanc
As a 'handy' novice I was very concerned to take on installing a belt on my Craftman riding mower. The estimate was $200-300 for pickup-fix-delivery from two local repair shops. Well, I 'gambled' on this belt and won!! I had taken a few hours to look for the challenge but couldn't see any. I thought I must be missing the problem but it would become obvious when the belt arrived. A spring loaded pulley made the install a 15 minute snap ! It was so easy I laughed. It's been a month and still working as expected. I'm now ordering a 'drive belt' and hope for the same 'quick' success. (Note - seven years ago I did spend the big bucks to have the repair shop overhaul my mower to include belts.... in the Spring they lasted 5 minutes because it was done wrong)

Good Product! Very Cooperative Seller! Apr 13, 2010

This is an excellent belt, it's made of high quality material and works very well in my Craftsman riding mower. It is priced considerably below the equivalent belt from Craftsman.
Even though this is a low priced item, the seller went out of his way to correct my mistake and send me the proper belt, for which I very much appreciate!

perfect fit, works so far... Aug 15, 2013
The belt I received (in mid-August, 2013) came in a sleeve that says "K-Force OEM Replacement Belt - Sears/Roper/AYP Belt A-130801 - Exact OEM replacement belt." Look up Sears/Roper AYP Belt A-130801 and you find different brands, i.e., not just K-Force. Some descriptions say something about Kevlar, some don't (one site says, " Most of our lawn mower & specialty belts are Kevlar reinforced," but doesn't say if the one in question is Kevlar reinforced). I just needed to replace a belt for a Craftsman riding mower the manual for which calls for V-belt part 144959. The belt I received fits perfect and worked perfect on the first use, the only use so far, to mow 1 1/4 acres. I will update this review if I have a problem (and I will be mowing till November this year...).
Since you'll most likely be removing your mower deck to put this belt on, plan ahead if you need to change and/or sharpen blades and of course take advantage of the opportunity to scrape the interior of the deck from all the mud and grass, etc., that's stuck down there. Took me less than 1/2 hour (of sweating and swearing) to remove the deck, scrape it, put the new belt on, and reattach the deck. (The V-belts for the mower model I have are not adjustable, so I didn't have to make adjustments.) Started mowing and it worked perfect right away.
Before ordering this belt I considered paying Sears' premium price for one (currently $34.99 at the Sears Parts Direct site, plus shipping unless I drive 60 miles and back to pick it up). The packaging for this belt makes no mention of a warranty, so I figure that unless it breaks within 30 days, I'd be unable to get a refund (Amazons' 30 day return policy is excellent in my experience, even for marketplace sellers). And as I say, I will update this review should I experience any problems. I think my last belt (which I did buy from Sears) lasted me 10 years. I'll be happy if this one lasts me two years though I of course hope it lasts ten (I hope my mower lasts that long too!).
