5Correct replacement for Ariens Shear Bolts  Feb 12, 2012
By W. Emanuel
These shear bolts are the correct size replacement for the Ariens 5100 1500 Shear Bolts. They fit my Ariens 926LE snow blower. The price for the package of 10, even with shipping, is MUCH better than the cost for singles at H-D. Some reviews complain that the bolts are not zinc coated. I don't think that this is a problem. The auger drive shaft that the bolts go through should be covered with grease. The grease will work its way into the bolt hole and around the bolt as the snow blower is operated. If your broken bolts are not coming out with a little grease on them, then you should get the auger shaft regreases ASAP.

5Shear Bolts  Jan 17, 2012

Very good product at a very good price. I got this product after going to Home Depot and finding the rpice of their shear bolts had gone up by almost twice. I immediately came home and did a search for them and found these. It's nice to know everyone isn't out to gouge the public with price increases.

5It sure is a shear pin  Dec 05, 2011

Not sure how much I can elaborate. The price was excellent so I purchased enough to last through many seasons - assuming I dont lose them in the garage...

This was for my Ariens rear tine rototiller FYI.

5When you need it, you need it..  Sep 20, 2011

This is one of those things that is cheap but when you need one, it's good to have; keep a few on hand. The biggest hassle is finding the exact one you need, what with this-number-replaces-that-number-but-this-one-looks-different; my snow blower takes at least two different kinds of shear pins and neither interchangeable, so get (and try) the right ones before the snow comes.

5Cheap insurance  May 01, 2011

I know people who use regular bolts when their shear pins break. With a 10 pack of pins at these prices, there is no reason not to have these. Don't take a chance at ruining an expensive machine - pay just a little now or a lot later (for a new gear box!). Great product at an incredible price!
